2023 Hybrid National Rural Institute on Alcohol, Drugs, and Addictions
https://www.nradan.org/ June 25, 2023 – June 29, 2023 UW-Stout Memorial Student Center Just 5 more days to this event! I will have two sessions at this conference: 1 as a part of my track with other NALGAP members, and 1 discussing the issue not only of a lack of substance counselors in general, but also the lack of diversity in the counselors we do have. This is a great event for anyone working as a counselor or therapist (or social worker, school nurse, etc.) in rural areas. One featured presenter is Tom Farley, brother of the late famed actor Chris Farley. Tom shares his journey as brother to Chris in a story of "Addiction, Love, and Forgiveness." In addition to Tom, Executive Director of NAADAC, Cynthia Moreno Tuohy will also be a featured speaker with her discussion of "Romancing the Brain/Conflict Resolution in Recovery & Relapse Prevention" Recovery and rehabilitation in rural areas face unique challenges not encountered in other parts of the country. This is helpful information and tools for anyone related to substance use disorder medicine and treatment. Join us! |
